Naturalization Service in Indonesia

For short-term business purposes, foreigners who plan on coming to Indonesia can apply for a business visa. More often than not, there are plenty of cases when foreigners happen to enjoy their stay in Indonesia and they end up becoming a permanent Indonesian citizen. The Indonesian government regulates this in a process known as naturalization. Every foreigner is allowed to naturalize themselves as Indonesian citizens. However, it is worth noting that there are specific requirements needed to be met.

Naturalization Requirements in Indonesia

There are several requirements that must be met in order to be naturalized as an Indonesian citizen. You must have stayed in Indonesia for at least 5 consecutive years or 10 years by the time the application is sent, be at  least 18 years of age, mentally and physically healthy, have never committed any crime which caused imprisonment for 1 (one) year or more, do not have any other citizenship (since Indonesia does not acknowledge dual citizenship, applicants must release their other citizenship), fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, capable of stating the Pancasila and UUD 1945 (The 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia), have a fixed income and willing to pay a citizenship fee.
